Coloring books are always fun for children, for entertaining whilst travelling, on vacation or even developing their motor skills and creativity. Secret Garden by Johanna Basford is one of the most beautiful coloring books and known as an Inky Treasure Hunt - exciting! A Decadent Maleficent Inspired Party / Baby Shower Ideas by Itty Bitty Mini blog

If you haven't seen the new Disney Maleficent movie yet - you should! I loved it! It complimented the original animated Sleeping Beauty movie which was one of my favorites as a child. I was inspired by The Moors, the magical place where Maleficent and her fellow fairy folk live - and created a decadent party suitable for either a birthday party or baby shower based on the Maleficent movie and The Moors. 

There would be an outdoor setting and a color palette of creams, brown, metallic gold and copper as well as hints of black. There would be vintage chandeliers' hanging from a tree as the key feature and the scene would be decorated with mercury glass tealights'. Fruits such as pears, apples and pomegranates would be painted gold to use within table settings and decorating the dessert tables . Delicious desserts and drink glasses are can even be dusted with gold too.

The cake below is very inspired by Maleficent's wings and of course any guests who would like to wear fairy wings or Maleficent horns would be superb!

Fab Finds - Sparkle! - Glittery Accessories for Girls by Itty Bitty Mini

Today here on Itty Bitty Mini blog we have a pick of perfectly sparkly silver accessories for little girls. These make cute additions to summer occasion outfits or for dressing up.

We have found a beautiful little J. Crew heart shaped purse - covered in silver glitter and complete with a ribbon 'across the body' style handle. There's also a darling little glitter bow headband also from J.Crew - adding the perfect little touch of sparkle to any outfit! Then last but not least we have the metallic leather sandals from Zara Kids, with a wide glitter strap over the toes, these are a super cute and sparkly shoe option for everything - from jeans to shorts and skirts and of course dresses! These sandals are really on trend for this spring/summer season and we have more of the metallic sandal trend coming up on the blog soon!

"A collaborated effort with my vision of a little Indian meeting a modern concept of arrow leggings made by Salt City Emporium and wonderfully styled set by Delish Styling. This was a serious face shoot, to create a timeless moment of a young boy and his bow and arrow The young model, Alaka'I, played the part very well. I love working with others and creating colorful and unique concepts, especially with animals!"

I cannot think of a more perfect session to share on Easter Sunday than this beautiful Maternity shoot by Fine Art Photographer Lisa O'Dwyer! Complete with Jemima Puddle duck and Peter Rabbit and shot in Ireland, Claire and Jonathan's session is stunning...

"Claire and Jonathan had their maternity session at the end of June. They had a sweet baby boy this September. They live in Limerick Ireland, where Claire works as the planning extraordinaire behind White Sage Events.

Claire is a friend as well as a colleague to me. I talked her into this session before I left Ireland for Colorado. I knew she would a beautiful mother-to-be! I had never had a maternity session of my own and so I knew how important these photographs would be to Claire and Jonathan in the future.

Claire and Jonathan brought along the little Peter Rabbit and Jemima Puddleduck characters as it was a surprise whether they were having a boy or girl!"
